The footwear sector, which brings together 11,4 thousand companies and moved last year R $ 28,4 billion, decided to join efforts to modernize the industries in order to meet new consumer demands. "It is essential to change the mindset of entrepreneurs. The consumer is more aware and informed, no longer consumes. The desire to have given rise to the desire for access to things, but without possession. The sector needs to consider these changes to develop more suitable business models," says Roberta Ramos, project manager of the Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries (Abicalcados).
Roberta says that consumers are more interested in products that are more useful, with the case of women's shoes that allow them to change the jump, and sneakers that can exchange leather (higher part of footwear). They also show interest in developing their own products. "From here to a few years, the 3D printing will be accessible to everyone, will the consumer print the shoe at home? If you do that, how will the industry compete? "
